Eastern Aromatic Native American Style Cedar Flutes

This is the kind of flute I started out with. They're beautiful to see and have a wonderful tone. Color and grain vary widely. Most have red heartwood and cream-colored sapwood. It basically depends on what my wood supplier sends me. I order the best wood which is generally knot-freee, and if you know Eastern Cedar, finding clear Cedar is not easy. Normally the raw lumber is rife with splits, checks, cracks, inclusions, knots and so on. Actually, I think the knots are pretty cool and if my wood has knots, I stabilize them with two part epoxy. Suffice it to say that your flute will be created from the very best Eastern Cedar available.
Eastern Cedar is one of the best tone woods for the Native American style flute. The sound is clear and clean. Eastern Cedar consistently gives a good tone. Indigenous to the southeastern United States, this wood has been used by tribes from this part of the country to make Native American Indian flutes because it is readily available and works easily. This is why it is a traditional wood for the Native American style flute.
The flutes pictured are living with happy customers all over the world. The flute that you will get when you order from Laughing Crow Flutes will look very similar, but keep in mind that the grain and colors vary from instrument to instrument. I guarantee that your flute will be beautiful in appearance, tone and playability.
